Driver Printer iP1880 di Fedora
Waktu saya memutuskan untuk “mempensiunkan” printer lama saya (Canon BJC 265SP) yang telah memiliki masa bakti 8 tahun dan menggantinya dengan Canon iP1880, salah satu pemikiran yang sempat terbersit adalah “Bisa gak ya iP1880 ini dipake di Linux?”
Kemarin hal tersebut terjawab sudah. Jawabannya adalah bisa, karena sudah tersedia drivernya. Driver Canon iP1880 dapat dicari di situs Canon Australia. Driver Canon iP1880 for Linux menggunakan driver iP1800 series. Jadi masukkan saja teks ip1800 pada kotak teks Enter the model name of your Canon product dan klik GO.
Ada dua file yang perlu didownload, yaitu:
- cnijfilter-common-2.70-1.i386.rpm
- cnijfilter-ip1800series-2.70-1.i386.rpm
Nah, setelah drivernya diinstall, pilihan Canon iP1880 akan muncul saat melakukan add printer.

mas disitus itu (http://www.canon.com.au/drivers/default.aspx). untuk yang canon ip1200 kok untuk driver linuxnya kayaknya ngak ada dech.apa ada salah satu dari driver printer itu yang bisa digunakan untuk canon 1p1200 saya. trimakasih atas jawabannya.

Oo..thx, akhirnya sudah dapat 2 file itu, tolong dong tampilin caranya setting/instal drivernya di fedora core 8 yang detail, soalnya ga bisa, dan ga tau yang diinstal yang mana???, atau tolong kirim ke emailku, mrke lagi butuh banget buat tugas kuliah, thx bgt

Akhirnya dapet juga di canon australia.
